CMOS Sensor Endoscopes: OV6946 & OV6930
In the construction of endoscopes with distal end complementary metal oxide semiconductor (CMOS) sensors, Precision Optics Corporation (POC) has utilized their proprietary micro lens design and manufacturing capabilities to build camera assemblies using a variety of different CMOS sensors including the OmniVision OV6946 and the OmniVision OV6930 CameraChip™ sensors, and a flexible printed circuit technology from Fujikura Ltd. POC has the in-house ability to custom manufacture to specific needs and specifications.
The OV6946 CMOS Camera Module features an outside diameter of 1.6 mm, a 160K pixel resolution, FOV 90 degrees diagonal and a depth of field range from 3-50 mm. The OV6930 has a 2.8 mm diameter outside diameter, a 160K pixel resolution, varying lens choices refer to outline drawing number 8581-900 depending on the lens cell. The lens cells for the OV6930 are available as a stand-alone sub-assembly or can be customized to meet unique requirements and incorporated into the design of re-sterilized or single-use medical devices, including complete re-usable or single-use visualization and illumination systems incorporating various proprietary optical technologies.
