High-Speed Solid State Detectors for Low Light Level Applications
The C30902 and C30921 series of high-speed solid state detectors are ideal for low light level applications involving LIDAR, bar code scanning, range finding, photon counting, and small-signal fluorescence.
These detectors come in a hermetically sealed package and feature high quantum efficiency (77% @830nm typical), a low noise figure at room temperature, a 400 to 1000nm spectral response range, 0.5 ns time response (typical), and a -40oC to +70oC operating temperature range.
These high speed detectors can be used in either their normal linear mode at gains up to 250 or greater, or as photon counters in the Geiger more where a single photoelectron can trigger an avalanche pulse of about 108 carriers.
