Multi-Pixel Thermopile Arrays: Cool Eye™
Excelitas’ Cool Eye™ is a well-established brand of multi-pixel Thermopile Arrays for advanced Passive Infrared (PIR) Presence Detection and Indoor Climate Control. It features a number of line arrays and small pixel-count spatial array modules on a pcb with a connector. The arrays include infrared lenses, E2PROM memory and a microcontroller with integrated 10 bit analog to digital converter that also enables digital communication. The Cool Eye Thermopile Array family is designed for applications that require low resolution thermal images capable of resolving humans and animals without the use of expensive, high-resolution infrared (IR) imaging cameras.
In addition, Excelitas recently evolved the Cool Eye™ family to include a new low resolution imager, the CoolEye™, for a number of applications including security in buildings and hospitals, medical diagnostics, emergency rescue presence detection, energy conservation, and indoor climate control applications. As the name suggests, Excelitas’ CoolEyeTM Infrared Imager 1024 provides 32x32 pixel resolution. With its unique 1024’s pocket-sized form-factor, Excelitas has opened the door to a wide range of high-performance, low resolution thermal imagers, specifically targeted for high-volume applications.
