The PLDD-50-SP Ultra Short Pulse Laser Diode Driver from OptiSwitch Technology features 25 to 50 Amps, <5 ns† pulse width, <2.5 ns† rise time, and <4.0 ns† fall time. The laser diode driver can be used in research applications as well as applications involving rangefinding, and defense and security applications, remote sensing.
This particular laser diode driver delivers clean current pulses and a precise current monitor output. This gives the user the ability to monitor the laser diode current in real time. It's also compact (only 2.7 x 1.3 inches), lightweight (<14 g), and all solid state pulsed current sources are designed to drive single or multichip laser diodes.
At 50 amps of peak current, the PLDD-50-SP ultra short pulse laser diode driver delivers <5 ns pulse widths with pulse repetition frequency variable from single shot to 15 KHz. Laser diodes can be either mounted on the edge of the driver or vertically through mounting holes. The diameter and placement of these holes accommodate the most common laser diode packages..
